Fall 2008

PSA Fall 2008 Season Dates

The registration deadline for the fall 2008 season is Monday September 1st (Labor Day).  Please remember that registration for PSA is always open.  You may register online or by US Mail at any time between now and the 1st of September.  Those who fail to get registered before the deadline are not guaranteed placement on a team and will incur a late fee.

First games of the fall season are currently scheduled for Saturday September 27th.  We will end the season before Thanksgiving.  We will not be using the Balloon Fiesta Park for the fall.

Introducing the All New Mini Munchkin Division of PSA!

We are proud and very excited to announce the brand new PSA Mini Munchkin soccer program!  This program is specifically for three year old little monkeys.  This division will not play a league format.  These monkeys will be assigned to a specific one hour block of time each Saturday at our game field.  During this time PSA instructors will set up a variety of soccer oriented games, including 3v3, to teach the kids how to play.  The objective for this division is significantly different from our regular league play format.  Our objectives in order of priority are as follows:

  1. Teach each of the children to love the sport of soccer by creating an environment of learning that is extremely fun.
  2. Introduce the children to structured sports events.  Keeping the kids focused on the skill they are being taught as well as functioning as part of a group are a couple of examples of this.
  3. Introduce the children to the basic skills of soccer.  We will not concentrate on having the children meet a specific requirement of motor skills, ball handling skills or team dynamics.  A general understanding of the above is more realistic.
  4. Introduce the children to the basic rules of soccer (no hands, no pushing, how to restart play when the ball has gone out of bounds, etc).

Our expectation is to have all of the children in this division familiar with soccer and absolutely love it.  Parental involvement is not required during our sessions on Saturdays but we highly encourage it.  Parents are welcome to participate with their respective monkeys or simply cheer and provide fluid support (entering or exiting).

Registration Information

Parents please note that if you would like to register your kiddo to return to his or her previous team all you need to do is write either the coaches last name or the team number across the top of the registration form.  If your child is new to PSA you may request placement on an existing team by writing the coach’s name or team number as well.  Please understand that there are roster limits.  All new registrants will be placed on teams based on school district unless otherwise specified.

The registration fee for a player that requires a new uniform is $65 and $55 if your child is returning to a team and does not require a new uniform.

Fundraiser for the MS society.

Starbucks in association with the Premier Soccer Academy and the House of Soccer is proud to be raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society during our registration over Labor Day Weekend.  Starbucks will be selling a variety of beverages with all proceeds going to the MS Society.  Even if you have already registered your munchkin for the upcoming season please drop by the House of Soccer and pick up a yummy drink knowing your effort will be appreciated by many, many people.

SE corner of Montgomery & Wyoming

The House of Soccer is full of excellent deals on gear for you and/or your monkeys.  Their beginners kits (cleats, shin guards and a ball) start below $30 and are upgradeable to better kits with some of the top of the line equipment.  If you decide to register online or by US Mail then please remember that you are still eligible for their sweet deals.

Left Over Uniforms

If your team is still in possession of uniforms that were not distributed to registered players then please let me know immediately.  These uniforms were not free therefore we cannot simply give them away.  They need to be used by children registering for the upcoming season.  PSA contact information is listed at the bottom of this page.
